Habitat for Humanity of Greater Baton Rouge acquires land in several ways including outright donation, purchase, or a combination of donation and purchase. Habitat purchases land at fair market value as determined by a licensed appraiser. We do not accept or purchase property in the floodplain. We prefer to acquire lots in neighborhoods that already have existing Habitat homes; however, our Real Estate Committee will consider land donations in any of the eight parishes where we are chartered to build.
